La Liga to press charges against FIFA for Club WC

On Friday, FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced in a statement that there will be a Club World Cup with 32 teams from 2025, which would affect domestic league competitions.

Therefore, La Liga president Javier Tebas will consider "relevant legal action" against the international organisation "to avoid the Club World Cup going ahead as planned". Most of all, he is worried about the 2023 edition.

Tebas' team claimed that these measures "irreversibly damage the whole ecosystem of football" and that "FIFA are only thinking of a small pool of clubs and players", he firmly added.

However, Tebas criticised from the start the new format put forward for the 2026 World Cup. He wants it to be reconsidered.
