Takefusa Kubo now knows where he will play this season. According to the main media outlets, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Villarreal for the 19 year-old Japanese player to join the latter on loan.
The race to sign Kubo has been intense. The winger improved at Mallorca and his season was brilliant despite the club's relegation. After his loan deal ended, 'Los Blancos' looked for a new team and lots of clubs asked about him.
Real Betis, Sevilla, Celta, Granada and Osasuna were some of those interested in his loan deal. The last two seemed to be in the best position, but Villarreal have reportedly gone ahead of all of them.
The deal is for one season without the option to buy him. That the only type of agreement the club and the player would accept. The plan is for him to keep on growing at a Europa League outfit so that he is prepared when the time comes for him to play at the Bernabeu.
It is not yet official, but Villarreal and Madrid are expected to announce it shortly. The 'Yellow Submarine' will pay the footballer's wages plus between two and three million euros to Real Madrid.
