Kilmarnock accept Jones two match ban

Immediately after the contest, forward Jones was issued with a notice of complaint for simulation, which has now been converted into a two game ban for the 'Killie' player. 

Jones' dive saw a wrongful penalty awarded to Kilmarnock, which proved decisive in their 2-1 win over Dundee United. 

The striker will now miss his sides trip to St Mirren on October 20th, and the home match against Hamilton a week later.  Kilmarnock issued a statement on the incident, posted on their official website following the confirmation of Jones' ban.

It read: " Following internal discussion, the club can confirm we will not challenge the notice of complaint submitted against Jordan Jones following our victory over Dundee. Jordan is adamant that he did not carry out an act of simulation, nor did he claim for a penalty kick or intend to deceive the referee."

The statement continued; " However, as part of the judicial panel system, this charge has been brought after former referees considered the evidence and whilst we have every right to deny the allegation we are not inclined to on this occasion as we had no additional substantive evidence to submit for consideration. Jordan will now be suspended for our upcoming Ladbrokes Premiership matches away to St Mirren on October 20 and at home to Hamilton on October 27."

Dundee's Neil McCann expressed his displeasure immediately after the match, which saw Dundee's defeat leave them bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

McCann said: "To say I'm aggrieved is an understatement. I'm absolutely furious. It's an emotional game when you're a manager and right now I feel pretty sick. My boys didn't deserve that. It's a pivotal moment because again we have to come from behind and it's changed the whole outcome." 

He continued: "The decision was a disgrace and it's hard for me to control my emotions. The defining thing for me was that he's (Jones) told boys in my team he has taken a dive. I asked the boy himself as he came off the pitch at the end. He just shook my hand but didn't answer me."
