The young winger only joined the club earlier in the week, but with Gerrard airing concern about the quality of his squad after the performances in the last round of qualifying for the competition against Macedonian side Shkupi.
Kent had been taking part in preseason training at Liverpool's Melwood training ground before the move up to Glasgow, so should be physically fit enough to take part in the game, and Gerrard is impressed with what he's seen from the player so far.
"He's quick, he's aggressive in possession in terms of one-v-ones, and he's an exciting player to watch.
"We're hoping he can help us in terms of creativity in the final third. He's two or three days in, so it will take him a while to settle in and get used to his team-mates and his surroundings, but in terms of fitness and where he's at, he's in a good place." the former England captain said.
While Kent could make his debut, several other players in the squad may miss out including Umar Sadiq and Scott Arfield who are suffering from injuries.
The Scottish outfit will travel to Croatia to play the game on Thursday night, with the return leg taking place at Ibrox a week later.
