Joao Tralhao, Joao Felix's coach in the age group category teams for Benfica, praised the quality of the Atletico Madrid. He is convinced the player will be much better next term.
In an interview with 'El Desmarque', the coach commented: "When I got in contact with him for the first time, he was a player who was clearly going to make the difference compared to the rest. He was a kid with all the capabilities of showing his shills."
With regards to the injuries he has had Tralhao said: "For me it's not decisive and it's not a new thing. Joao was not used to having injuries, he has not had a lot of injuries, but it wasn't difficult to predict for me."
"With the difference in intensity, as young players get into professional football, it's normal that the adaptation to a different type of effort makes them likely to get injured. When you are playing in a team like Atletico Madrid who are looking for all the titles, the physical demand is very great and we are talking about a 20 year-old kid," he added.
"For me, it's normal that this type of adaptation causes some injuries, but they aren't serious and I'm certain he will have a lot less injuries next season so that he can play more often."
Joao Felix and the 'Cholo'
In addition, Joao Tralhao referred to Joao's relationship with Cholo Simeone: "Joao is supertalented, one of the best in world football, but he's at an age in which he has to be prepared for new things and he has to be prepared to maximise his qualities. There is nothing better for me than working with a coach as demanding as Simeone."
"For me, the relationship between both is perfect. Because Joao still needs a coach likes Diego, a top coach, and for Diego, I think it's brilliant to be working with a kid with so much talent," he concluded.
