Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer for Monchengladbach will face Sergio Ramos, the Real Madrid captain again. Sommer saved two Ramos penalties in a match between Switzerland and Spain recently and asked his teammates to be "brave".
"It's a very important game for us. We are very prepared and everyone's aim is to win. We are very close to making the last 16 and we have the chance to finish first. We have to be brave to get a great result, but we'll face the game with optimism for sure," he said in the press conference.
Sommer was the keeper who ended Sergio Ramos' great run from the penalty spot by stopping two in the same game in Switzerland's match with Spain. He is not thinking about facing the Real Madrid captain, but he said that if he has to face another penalty from him, he is prepared to beat him again.
"I wouldn't say that it's harder to save a Ramos penalty than from others. It's true that he takes very good penalties, but the story on Wednesday will be very different. I'm not worried about that and I am prepared in case I have to face a penalty from him. I've got my own plan to prepare myself," he explained.
Ramos' return to Real Madrid is not Sommer's main concern: "I'm not really concerned about that, I'm concentrating on what we have to do."
"It's not up for debate that Sergio Ramos is a very important player for Real Madrid and it's a good sign for them that he is playing in the match, but we're happy to play this match. We are prepared and we'll look to play our best to go through," Sommer concluded.
