Isak celebrated ‘amazing’ first goal as Liverpool progress

Alexander Isak celebrated his first goal in a Liverpool shirt with enthusiasm. The Swedish striker scored in the 2-1 victory over Southampton at Anfield in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Speaking to ITV Sport after the match, the player acknowledged the special emotion he felt on a very significant night for him. "Amazing. It was good to get back out there and score my first goal here, at Anfield. The win as well. So, it's a good night," said the striker.
Isak admitted that he could have scored earlier, but emphasised the importance of keeping calm inside the box. "I should have scored that one [the chance early on] as well, but that's a part of being a striker – you miss some and then you score some," he claimed.
When asked about his physical condition and his ability to perform at the highest level, the Swedish international was cautious. "It's difficult to say. I think it's a mixture of fitness-wise and also football-wise. I feel good, I feel like I'm in a shape to at least make a difference," said the Swedish striker.
