"If you're not playing well, at least run for the team" - Pedri's father advice

Barcelona midfielder Pedri stressed on Tuesday, after beating Benfica (3-1) and qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Champions League, that the Catalan team knew how to stay “focused” after Otamendi's equaliser in the 13th minute.
“In the previous match we came out a bit asleep. We had to improve that and we came out better. We scored first and right after they equalised, but the team was able to stay focused, and sparks from the players we have clarified the result,” summed up the Spanish international.
Speaking to 'Movistar Liga de Campeones' in the mixed zone of the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys, Pedri admitted that Tuesday's game was “a complicated match” due to the recent death of team doctor Carles Minarro. “I want to send my support to the family and friends, we will try to win everything for him,” he stressed.
Referring to his performance, the Spanish midfielder said he always tries to work hard in defence. “My father used to tell me: 'If you're not playing well, at least put in the effort and run for the team.' That’s what I always try to do. I always try to work at the back and, with what we have up front, it happens on its own,” he said.
Pedri, who was awarded the 'MVP' of the match, pointed out that the award could have gone to attackers Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, the two scorers of the night. “They are spectacular players. We have a lot of dynamite up front and we have to take advantage of it,” he stressed.
