What is at stake: Croatia have already qualified so will most likely rest players ahead of their Round of 16 clash. This could give Iceland an opportunity to sneak a victory and potentially secure progression themselves. Nothing short of a win would do.
Iceland: Centre-back Ragnar Sigurdsson is a doubt for the match after he was forced to withdraw early from the defeat to Nigeria with a head injury.
It is unclear whether winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson has fully recovered from his muscle problem to be in contention for a starting place.
Croatia: The Balkan side have plenty of players on yellow cards so expect Ivan Rakitic, Ante Rabic, Sime Vrsaljko, Mario Mandzukic, Marcelo Brozovic and Vedran Corluka to be rested.
Forward Andrej Kramaric could retake his place in the starting line-up after being dropped against Argentina.
Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson on his opposition:
"We’ve played Croatia four times in four years, we’ve often said we’re like a married couple - we’re trying to get divorced, but we always meet up again,” the Iceland coach said at a recent media conference.
"We were ahead of them in our (qualifying) group and we’ve already beaten them once in Iceland, so we at least have that confidence with us when we play them."
Croatia defender Dejan Lovren on potentially resting players:
"The head coach is the one who will make the final decision," he added. "All of us are ready. Our goal, of course, is to win and get all nine points and we do not think the win over Iceland will be easy.
"We have already played them [during qualification] and we know they are a team that needs to be respected."
