"I never said I wanted to leave"

Cristian Romero, the Tottenham defender, assured everyone on Monday that he never said he wanted to leave the team and that he is very happy at the club.
The Argentinian centre-back was linked with a move to Atletico Madrid during the summer, but ended up extending his contract with the London club.
"I never said I wanted to leave," said Cuti on Monday in the press conference before his team's Champions League debut against Villarreal.
"I'm very happy here; Tottenham is like a family. I like the coach, the way we work, the way we train. There is always room for improvement, but I think we are all on the right track for that," he emphasised.
"I've been very happy since Thomas Frank arrived. He made the decision to renew my contract. I am very happy here and that is the key," he insisted.
The Argentinian defender praised the good form of the team, with nine points out of a possible twelve in the Premier League, and said that they have done very well, except the defeat against Bournemouth.
"We have a great coach and a great defensive coach. We always want to improve. We give our best no matter who we play against, and what we want is to continue improving," he commented.
In addition, Cuti spoke about Juan Foyth, with whom he played in Argentina's youth categories and later in the senior national team.
"He is a great person and a great player. He also played for Tottenham and I am sure it will be a very special match for him," he said.
