Cafu arrived this past Sunday at the age of 50. The former full-back is an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup and has written a letter in which he touched on a very difficult subject for him: the death of his son.
"There are days that we don't forget. On 4 September 2019, God took my son, who was only 30 years old. Some things are inexplicable. I lost my son in my arms and tried to help him and save him, but he was gone. It was and is an empty and terrible feeling," wrote Cafu.
Brazilian legend has it that he felt weak because he couldn't save his own son. "God took him away and I am sure he feels good where he is. I'm sure he's laughing from above at the things we do here," he continued.
Cafu ended up thanking him for all the expressions of affection and all the messages received in the form of support after these difficult months. The Brazilian won everything a footballer could wish for in a career that took place in Sao Paulo, Zaragoza, Palmeiras (he only played two games), Rome and Milan.
With the Brazilian National Team he won the World Cup twice, the Copa America and the Confederations Cup.
