In an interview with the newspaper 'O jogo', Jesé Rodríguez was honest about the issues most related to his situation at Sporting Lisbon.
"Sporting is a great club in Europe. When I had the opportunity to play here I was very happy. I came here with the intention of earning a starting place at training and trying to give my best", he assured.
Jesé has already received criticism and the press has supported him after having a good match against the under 23s. The striker remembered his time at Madrid.
"My injury in Madrid was important and left me without playing for a long time. The important thing is to work and be prepared. Now I see myself in shape and anxious to be at the required level or even better. I have never trained so much", he continued.
Jesé revealed that he received opinions from both Carvalho and Ronaldo before leaving for Portugal: "Carvalho spoke well of the club, as did Cristiano. Willy loves Sporting and is an out-and-out player, Cristiano is the best in the world".
With regards to the trust that both he and the club have, Jesé only want to return it by putting in the work. "The club has trusted me a lot and I've been told many times. They're counting on me and I'm happy that a team like that gives me this chance to be happy playing football. Staying or not is not a priority now", he concluded.
