Mike Phelan's side pulled off a remarkable two-minute turnaround against the Saints to come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1.
Despite a vital victory against a strong Southampton side, spirits were dampened by the fact that strikers Will Keane and Abel Hernandez both picked up significant injuries.
Phelan says that Keane's injury was "the worst of the two" and the former Manchester United striker could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Keane went down fairly innocuously in the first half with no contact from any Southampton player and is likely to have suffered some kind of ligament injury.
Meanwhile, fellow striker Hernandez picked up a groin injury and is likely to be out for a number of weeks rather than months.
The injuries leave Hull with just one out-and-out available striker - Dieumerci Mbokani - for their next match, a relegation crunch clash with Sunderland as Norwegian international Adama Diomande is also suspended for the fixture.
