With the COVID-19 crisis, Gonzalo Higuaín left Italy and went to Argentina, where he remains.
According to the latest information, Higuaín was not keen on coming back to Italy, reportedly even threatening to stay in his home country.
Higuaín's father, Jorge, denied these rumours. "It is not true all that is being said about my son. Gonzalo will stay at Juventus," he told Radio LM Neuquén.
At least for the time being, the head of the Argentine star will not leave Turin. "He has a contract until 2021 and he will respect it," said Jorge Higuaín.
Higuaín will decide what to do in June next year. "Higuaín has never thought about an early goodbye. He loves Juve and feels loved by the fans. There has been talk of transfers or loans, but it's not true. He will respect the agreement and then make a decision about his future", he concluded.
In the face of this supposed threat of not returning from Higuain, Juventus are considering terminating his contract if they do not return to Italy. However, his father has come out in his son's defense to deny those rumours.
