Henry 'agrees' to replace Poyet at Bordeaux

Bordeaux are expected to appoint a new manager after placing Guys Poyet on leave following the Uruguayan's sensational rant about the club's owners.

"I'm not happy, it's my worst day at this club," he raged following the Europa League victory over Mariupol, accusing the club of selling Gaetan Laborde to Montpellier without his permission.

"What the club did today with Gaetan Laborde is a disgrace, I asked the club not to let him leave until we bring in a player. But they didn't recruit and they have allowed Laborde to leave."

Henry, who is known to be keen on making the step into full-time management, was quickly linked with the post and according to reports in France, a deal has now been struck between the two parties.

The France legend was linked with the Aston Villa job over the course of the summer, but insisted that he wanted to wait for the right opportunity to present itself before moving into management.

Currently the assistant manager of Belgium, Henry received a glowing endoresement from former boss Arsene Wenger, who insisted that "He is intelligent and he has the qualities" to be a success in the role.
