Giovanni Simeone, until now owned by recently relegated Cagliari, has joined Hellas Verona on a permanent four-year deal, the Italian club announced on Friday. Simeone has scored 17 goals this season, his highest tally in a season, and has provided six assists.
"Hellas Verona communicates that it has definitively acquired from Cagliari Calcio the right to the sporting performances of striker Giovanni Simeone, who has signed a contract with the 'Gialloblu' team until 30th June 2026," the Italian club informed.
The undisputed leader of the forward line, the name of the Argentine resounds as one of the most coveted in the Italian and European market, so the purchase by Verona does not mean that he will stay permanently.
According to local media reports, several clubs are interested in signing the Argentine international. Among them are Juventus, who, with the future of Spaniard Alvaro Morata still undecided, see Simeone as a good partner for Serbian Dusan Vlahovic, and English club Arsenal.
