Harry Kane wants to play against Croatia despite fatigue concerns
Gareth Southgate pulled his captain out of Tuesday’s training session, however it is understood that Kane wants to play.
The World Cup top goalscorer is keen to play against Croatia in Rijeka on Friday and Spain in Seville three days later so it is down to Southgate to decide whether he feels the Tottenham striker needs a break.
Southgate pulled him from training in order to reduce his workload, however Kane is keen to impress and secure England's first UEFA Nations League victory.
Kane captained England to a fourth-place finish at the World Cup and did not arrive back from Russia until July 15.
The 25-year-old then cut his summer holiday short to make himself available for Tottenham’s season-opener against Newcastle 27 days later.
The Tottenham striker has incredibly had just one full summer off since 2015 but unless he is suffering from a serious injury, he prides himself on being available for every game.
Meanwhile, Southgate is keen on giving Kane’s Tottenham team-mate Harry Winks some game time in the next two matches after recalling him to the squad last week
