After losing their opening two games in Russia, Peru were finally given something to cheer about against Australia, as Andre Carrillo gave them a first-half lead.
Captain Paolo Guerrero then put them one step closer to a first victory in the second half, thanks to a bit of good fortune.
The goal came in minute 50, after a deflection from a Flores shot fell to Guerrero. The striker struck the rebound, and his shot was also deflected, bouncing off Milligan into the net.
Even with their two goals, they are still unable to progress, but it was a nice moment for the fans, and redemption for Guerrero, who has faced a long fight to make it to Russia.
