Griezmann urges Atletico to seize Champions League chance at Anfield

The French forward admitted that the Rojiblancos approach Europe's elite competition with "high hopes" and plenty of motivation, especially as they return to a stadium where they famously triumphed in 2020.
"We can't wait to get started," Griezmann told the club's official media. "The Champions League excites everyone – players and fans alike. It's the toughest competition there is, but we genuinely believe we can have a very strong year."
On Wednesday's opponents, he added: "We know Anfield is one of the most difficult places to go. Liverpool have invested heavily, brought in a lot of quality, and the atmosphere there is incredible. But we've won there before, and we're determined to do something special again."
Atletico head into the clash in good spirits after a convincing 2-0 win over Villarreal at the weekend. "It was an important victory," he reflected. "We played at a much higher level technically than in recent games, and we need to keep building on that. There are always things to improve, but the confidence is there."
As for his own form, the 34-year-old has started only once this season but feels fully prepared. "I feel good, relaxed and ready for whatever the manager and the team need from me – whether that's goals, assists or simply helping the side compete," he said.
