Forward Antoine Griezmann denies outright rumours of plans to leave Atletico Madrid. He already struggled when he changed the Metropolitano for the Camp Nou and refuses to pack his bags.
Concentrated with France for the match against Greece, the 'Little Prince' spoke to 'Telefoot' and took the opportunity to talk about his future. Some have placed him as Mbappe's successor at PSG. His clause would be only 25 million euros.
"I want to stay at Atletico. I am very happy and so is my family. I want to win La Liga and try to do something special in the Champions League," he commented.
He also explained that for him, the most important thing is the squad, whether at Atletico or in the French National Team: "I am a person who likes to score, who likes to make others play. That's my way of thinking. The group is always more important than just myself and it will always be that way. That's what I try to teach my children".
And he declares that he learnt this particular lesson from two clubs: "I come from a good school. Real and Atletico taught me well: you have to play for your teammates. Without them, you're nothing, you're nobody. If I'm at this level, it's thanks to them", he explained.
Griezmann recalled how bad it was at the beginning of the season, when Barca and Atletico could not agree on his transfer and Simeone left him on the bench so that the club would not have to pay what the Catalans were demanding.
"That's how it is, that's football, I had to accept it...," he recalled. "It was hard, but there was nothing I could do. Even my teammates told me: 'Go talk to whoever it is so you can start in the games,'" he continued.
Fortunately, that's in the past, and the Frenchman can look back on a good season: "I'm very happy with my season. I've had a good rhythm, a good path," he concluded.
