The football bug has bitten Diego Godin again. Months after retiring from playing, the Atletico Madrid and Uruguay legend is putting his boots back on.
The humble Centro Recreativo Porongos Futbol Club announced on Tuesday the signing of the Uruguayan defender to play in the regional football of his country. He will do it, moreover, with his good friend Chory Castro.
"Welcome to Porongos, Diego." Diego Godin will be part of the First Division squad in the 2024 season, as announced by the Uruguayan club on their social media accounts.
Porongos de Flores, which belongs to the Organizacion de Futbol del Interior (OFI) in Uruguay, will begin its journey in the championship in April.
