The businessman Gary Hoffman was named as the new Premier League president, so he will work alongside the current executive president, Richard Masters, to direct the English league.
This 59-year-old banker will succeed Claudia Arney in the role on 1st June, who had acted as interim president since Richard Scudamore, president for more than 20 years, resigned.
"It's an honour to join the Premier League as president. The entire football world is joining in the face of this COVID-19 pandemic. I am convinced that this spirit of unity will help the football we love and that the Premier League will have a secure future", Hoffman said.
Hoffman has worked for, amongst others, Barclays and Visa, and is president of Coventry Building Society and the electronic bank Monzo.
