The return of Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid has led to there being a wild variety of changes on the Real Madrid teamsheet, with the Frenchman changing the ordering of the team from the one that Santiago Solari selected before being fired in March.
Amongst the players that have been revitalised and brought back into the Madrid side are the likes of Marco Asensio, Isco and Marcelo, who were without minutes and punished by the Argentinian manager due to a run of bad results. Isco, who went into preseason with almost 5 months absent from the pitch, has gradually brought himself back into the Real team and is now a vital cog in the side Zidane puts out.
He was not played by Solari due to his form, but Zidane has already identified him as a key player, and his performances in the opening games, against Celta Vigo and Huesca respectively, have both been goalscoring ones. He opened the scoring against Celta Vigo in the 2-0 victory, and scored the equalizing goal against Huesca in the 3-2 victory as Zidane maintained his perfect start following a late Karim Benzema goal.
The two goals have been key for Madrid, who will be happy that March is over, after enduring a torrid time. One thing is for sure, Isco may have been rejected by Solari, but he has turned into a hero now for Zidane.
