The Champions League final at the Stade de France between Liverpool and Real Madrid will kick off 15 minutes later than planned. A transport strike in the city of Paris has put the security arrangements for the event at risk and, in fact, the agents in charge of controlling access have already been overwhelmed at the gates of the stadium. Several videos on social media bear witness to this.
The problem lies in the fact that those in charge of the fans' entry to the stadium have not been able to carry out their task in the detailed and orderly manner that is necessary in this type of situation. There were gates through which dozens of fans entered, pushing the workers, who were unable to act in the face of such a large crowd.
To paralyse or, at the very least, condition the match was precisely one of the reasons why a transport strike had been called for this Saturday. Those responsible for it were aware of the importance of their employment on days like this and wanted to make as much impact as possible for their demands.
But why is there a transport strike in France? The French hauliers joined their counterparts in Spain, who have already staged demonstrations in recent weeks due to the increase in fuel prices, which has put primary sectors such as fishing in France in check. All of this, despite the 400 million euros in aid announced by the French government and a discount of 15 cents per litre.

Tear gas use reported
In the face of the crowds outside the Stade de France, Paris riot police are having to break up rallies and there are prominent reporters such as Melissa Reddy of 'Sky Sports' reporting that tear gas has been used against children. There are also videos already on social media attesting to this.
