Fermin Lopez to sign new Barcelona contract until 2028

Fermin Lopez will extend his contract with Barcelona on Tuesday. Both parts have reached an agreement as it was reported a few days ago. The 'Blaugrana' gem's  new contract will be valid until June 2028.

The Spanish midfielder is set to have a 400-million-euro release clause, a significant amount for an academy player. Xavi likes the young midfielder, he has impressed everyone at the club this preseason and is getting playing time this current season.

The Barcelona man could have an important role this new term under Xavi Hernandez, as he could be a great option for the Catalan coach to fill the void left by Pedri's absence due to injury.

Last year he was a key player for Linares Deportivo, playing 40 games, 35 of them as a starter, scoring 12 goals.
