It was quite a complicated first-half for Barcelona. The Catalan team returned to the dressing at half-time feeling frustrated after the first 45 minutes in which Madrid had dominated.
It proved costly for Barcelona to counter Vinicius' attacks on the left wing and only Ter Stegen could save the team from going behind before the break. Hence why Valverde's team needed a solution before the second-half.
It was reported that after Valverde's tactical discussion in which he asked his men to eradicate midfield errors and look for more depth to stun Madrid in attack, one of the squad's heavyweights took the stage to try and rally his teammates.
"We're not playing very well at the moment, especially in attack. Either we wake up and react, or we can all just go home", had been the player's words, whose name has not been revealed.
