Daily Star' claims that Tottenham's bosses are concerned about the situationsurrounding central defenders Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, as well as midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The three players end their contracts with the English team in June 2020, so the leaders fear that they will let their contracts finish without accepting a negotiation for their renewals until they are completely free.
The numbers of each player speak for themselves:
30-year-old Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld. He has been playing for the North London team since 2015, and has taken part in 172 games and two goals. He has played 13 matches this season.
Jan Vertonghen, also a Belgian defender, but two years older than Alderweireld. He landed in the English team in 2012-13, coming from Ajax. He has played 294 official matches and has also scored 12 goals. He has played nine games so far this season.
And finally, Christian Eriksen. One of the best players in the club's history, he has been the undisputed star of the English team since his arrival in the middle of the 2013-14 season. The 27-year-old Danish midfielder has played 289 games, scoring 68 times. This season, he has participated in 14 matches, scoring twice.
There is no doubt that the three are vital players for Tottenham, indisputable pieces, references in the starting eleven of the team, living history of the club, hence the renewal of the three contracts is an urgency for the managers of the English team.
