England v Costa Rica - Preview and possible lineups

England:
With this being the last game before England travel to the World Cup, Gareth Southgate is expected to make a few tweaks to the team. He confirmed in the build-up that he would start Jack Butland instead of Jordan Pickford in net, while also stating that Trent Alexander-Arnold would get a chance at wing-back.
Other than that, the 'Three Lions' are expected to stick to their three-man defence, with Jamie Vardy likely to get a run out up front.
Costa Rica:
Off the back of a victory over Northern Ireland, the 'Ticos' are also expected to make a few changes. Key men Marco Urena and Bryan Ruiz, who have sat out the past few games, could both return to the side.
Meanwhile, Bryan Oviedo and Joel Campbell, who both play for English sides, could also feature.
England boss Gareth Southgate:
Ahead of the game, Southgate made it clear that places in his World Cup team were up for grabs dependent on performance on Thursday.
"There are a couple of places that always as a manager you are looking at who your better players are," he said. "But then form and physical conditional means it always evolves, a football team is a moving, living beast."
"Everyone has to stay on their toes all the time, there is no room for complacency in training or slipping of standards.
"I am not sitting two weeks before a game and saying 'That's it, you're comfortable as you're in'."
Costa Rica boss Oscar Ramirez:
Ramirez talked England up ahead of the game, saying they have a good chance in Russia.
"England have a very good squad at the moment," he stated. "It's a very physical squad. They have a lot of great characteristics."
"England are one of many sides - Germany, Brazil, Spain, even France, who all have a lot of potential at this tournament."
