Real Madrid have found themselves with a problem up front in recent years. They have no clear replacement when Karim Benzema is out or tired in the game, as was evident against Real Sociedad on Sunday.
The solution could have come in the summer. Edin Dzeko was offered, by his agent, to Real Madrid in the last summer transfer window, according to 'Relevo' and 'ABC'.
The Bosnian footballer's contract with Inter Milan expires in the summer of 2023, and an exit last summer was the last chance for the 'Nerazzurri' to cash in on his departure.
However, Dzeko's age (36) and the high salary he receives were the arguments used by Real Madrid to reject the offer of the veteran Bosnian striker.
