Gerard Deulofeu, currently playing for Udinese, posted a sad message on his social networks to announce that he will have to undergo another surgery. Injuries have dealt another blow to the former Barcelona player.
"For me it is not a tragedy. It's a new opportunity... It's the third time, unfortunately, that I've had surgery, but each time I've been able to see and feel how it has helped me to grow both personally and professionally," the winger began.
And in the same vein, he added: "That's why I'm going to face this hard process, with all that it means, in the best way possible, being happy and being with the people who bring me joy and hope to my life. This will make me overcome it again and take advantage of this time as a new opportunity. Thank you for every message of support, I feel very close to you".
The recovery timetable has not yet been finalised, but it seems that Deulofeu will miss most of 2023. This new operation could put an end to his right knee problems.
The former Sevilla player was enjoying a good run of form at Udinese until he picked up an injury on his own in a Serie A clash against Napoli. The Italian club supported his decision to undergo surgery again.
