The young Frenchman has had to endure a torrid first season for 'Los Cules' so far, with injuries sidelining him for the majority of the year as numerous spectators and board members questioned his €145 million price-tag. However, things have started to look more positive for Dembele after his performance against Girona on Saturday.
At the Camp Nou, Dembele was the player who put the most crosses into the box (6), of which one assisted team-mate Suarez for his hat-trick in Barcelona's 6-1 thrashing of their La Liga opposition.
Although he started a bit shaky, there was no doubt Dembele grew into the game, hammering Girona's defensive line to create space for Lionel Messi and Suarez, who scored five goals between them on Saturday.
In fact, the 20-year-old received more fouls during the match than Messi, showing his determination to put himself about infront of the Camp Nou faithful.
Head coach Ernesto Valverde will take great pride in Dembele's performance, after refusing to drop him despite lacklustre displays before the one against Girona, and with three months left of the season, the youngster still has plenty of time to build a great first season at Barcelona.
