After surprisingly beating PSG to the Ligue 1 title last term, Lille's defence of the Ligue 1 crown has been awful.
In their first game, against Metz, Lille were only able to get a draw which game in added time after losing 3-1. A Metz red card helped Lille fight back to salvage a draw. They looked completely different to the team which had a solid defence last season.
That was shown even more in the first half of the matchday two clash with Nice. A higher quality opposition and they showed the champions' weaknesses.
Lille were losing 0-3 at the interval. In fact, after five minutes, Jocelyn Gourvennec's men were already in serious trouble.
Dolberg, in the 1st minute, and Boudaoui, in the fifth minute, made it 0-2. Then, Gouiri's penalty just before the break gave the visitors a three goal advantage.
