Deeney believes Alexander-Arnold 'earned right' for Real Madrid move

Trent Alexander-Arnold has awakened the football community during this March international break after reports revealed he had agreed a five-year deal with Real Madrid. Fans have voiced their disappointment towards the full-back, who is set to leave the club as a free agent.
Speaking on the transfer, former Watford striker Deeney said he thinks Alexander-Arnold has earned the right to move from his boyhood side. “I feel that he is in a position where he’s done everything at Liverpool. He’s won everything. He’s given them a lot," he told 'talkSPORT'.
"I would have liked for them to get some money for him, personally. For PSR and things like that, but it’s been a wonderful exchange. It’s somebody who’s come through the youth system. He’s been captain of his boyhood club, he’s won everything with his boyhood club," he added.
Deeney believes the 26-year-old will fit well with 'Los Blancos', where he will join fellow Englishman Bellingham. "He's not leaving for any other team, he’s going to Real Madrid, the biggest team in world football. I think it’s perfect for him and fair play to him, he’s earned that right in my opinion," he concluded.
