De Laurentiis makes bizarre Roma, Liverpool collusion claim

"I would not have got Alisson even for 100million. I had offered 60 for him but the Giallorossi did not want to sell him to me," he said to 'Gazzetta dello Sport'.

"I always had a suspicion that the real owner of Roma is the same as Liverpool. A little bird told me a few years ago. But if so these two teams should not both be in the Champions League."

However, Roma chairman James Pallotta was quick to dismiss the claims, with a very toungue-in-cheek comment that referenced Liverpool owner John Henry. 

"What do you think Laurentiis is smoking over there?" he said via the club's official twitter account, mirroring the tweet sent out by Liverpool after Arsenal tried to sign Luis Suarez from them.
