Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunner, but it was all for nothing

It was a tall order for Juventus against Lyon after Rodrigo Bentancur gave away a penalty and Depay made it 0-1. Lyon won the first game 1-0 so they were 2-0 up on aggregate.
The Italian side had to score three goals and just like in the last 16 game a year ago versus Atletico, Cristiano Ronaldo single handedly tried to win the game for Juventus. On this occasion, he fell just short though.
The Portuguese scored a penalty to make it 1-1 after Depay was penalised for a handball and then he scored a superb strike in the second half.
CR7 hit a powerful shot into the top corner after poor clearance by Anthony Lopes. It was a quality goal and Lopes could not stop it.
Juve, despite the goal, still needed another goal because of the away goals rule. Despite Juventus' best efforts, the third goal did not come and Juve were eliminated.
