Coutinho named in Champions League squad

Coutinho was the subject of three huge bids from Ernesto Valverde's side this summer and handed in a transfer request to try and force his way out of Anfield.

However, Liverpool played hardball and eventually managed to keep hold of their star man, and he could now make his first appearance of the season for the Reds against Manchester City on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp claimed he was happy with the Coutinho situation and said it's 'exactly what we wanted'.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a successful international break so far, scoring in Brazil's 2-0 World Cup qualifier win over Ecuador on Thursday.
