The Chelsea goalkeeper has heaped praise on his goalscoring team-mate, thanking his scoring exploits for the club's excellent league form.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed his admiration for team-mate Diego Costa following the forward's fine start to the season.

Costa is the Premier League's leading scorer with 12 goals, helping Antonio Conte's side to the top of the table after 15 games of the new campaign.

The Spain striker scored the winner in Chelsea's 1-0 win over West Brom on Sunday, and Courtois expressed his delight at Costa's form, having been re-united with him following both their moves from Atletico Madrid.

"I remember the year we were champions with Atletico he was very strong, and the year we were champions with Chelsea he was very strong as well," the Belgium international told the club's official website.

"This season up to now he has scored very important goals.

"He’s really strong on the ball as well and he dribbles past defenders like it’s nothing, so he’s very strong at the moment and we can only enjoy that and use him as our strength.

"It was a rough time for all the team last year but from January or February Diego was already scoring a lot of goals, and he has just carried that form on."

Costa, who is contracted to the Stamford Bridge outfit until 2019, was named Premier League player of the month for November for his fine form in the league, while Conte won the award for best coach and Pedro got one for his goal against Tottenham.
