Juventus had a poor season by their standards in the 2021/22 campaign. They did not achieve their objective of winning the Serie A, as they saw AC Milan lift the title and, in European competition, they hardly featured in the Champions League.
Because of this underperformance, the 'Bianconeri' are scouring the transfer market in search of players to improve the quality and competitiveness of their squad. The area of the team they are most preoccupied with improving is their attacking line. Therefore, they have turned their attention to the option of signing Luis Muriel.
The Colombia international currently has a contract with Atalanta that runs until June 2023. The side from Bergamo value their player at 20 million euros. This seems a reasonable price for his transfer and, combined with the fact that his wage bill stands at 4 million euros, his signing would not be crazy one for Juve.
Luis Muriel would be an interesting solution to the offensive problem Juve have currently. They are in need of a front man who can play at the level required to compete with the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli. Moreover, the chance to play for The Old Lady would be a golden opportunity for the Colombian as he would become one of the main focal points in a league he is already accustomed to.
