Since leaving League One side Swindon in October, Mark Cooper has had to wait 5 months before finding his new job, as the new manager of Notts County.
Cooper replaces Fullarton a day after he was sacked after a short spell of just 70 days with the club which finds itself 19th in the table.
Cooper is now the third manager this season to be appointed by Notts owner Ray Trew.
"What we need now, as a club, is stability, as we look to resolve the change of ownership and that is why I have turned to Mark to bring his experience and knowledge to the club to help turn things around on the pitch," Trew told the club website.
"To be fair to Mark and to reward him, should he manage to get things moving in the right direction, I have agreed a points total with him, which will remain confidential, at which point his deal will become permanent."
Notts County are on a seven-game winless run at Meadow Lane with their last win there dating back to the 12th of December.
Cooper will come in as manager for their next game away to Portsmouth, which will be followed by a home game to Wycombe Wanderers just three days later.
