According to the Newspaper 'HLN', Chelsea have rejected a first offer from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard, believed to be around 82 million euros, considerably less than the London club's valuation of their Belgian winger. It appears that Chelsea are remaining firm with their asking price of 100-120 million euros, despite Hazard's contract ending in June 2020.
It remains unclear whether the two sides will ever match their valuations of the Belgian World Cup Semi-Finalist, but Chelsea seem reluctant to let their star man go, and are therefore sticking to their guns regarding Hazard's worth. However, the premature exit of Real Madrid from the Champions League and the return of Zinedine Zidane have led to many believing Hazard will be a Madrid player next season.
Zidane has made it clear how highly he rates Hazard, and it appears that he may now be the main transfer target as Real look to rebuild in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo. Add to this the growing concern at Stamford Bridge that Chelsea will be unable to overturn FIFA's transfer ban, and it is hard to see Hazard staying at the club he joined in 2012.
