Philippe Coutinho arrived in Munich this Sunday to pass his medical before signing for Bayern Munich. The Brazilian, who Barcelona and Bayern reached an agreement for, hopes to seal his loan deal in the coming hours.
In the meantime, 'Bild' revealed that Bayern will pay 8.5 million euros to get Philippe Coutinho for a loan deal and will pay him the 12 million euros annually he gets. That was the main stumbling block to let the Brazilian go earlier.
The Brazilian moved to the Camp Nou for 120 million euros plus another 40 in variables. He was the club's most expensive signing in their history and after just one and a half seasons, he has gone out of the back door.
As well as being interested in getting back Neymar, one of Barca's priorities was to get some more money by selling a very expensive player like Coutinho. That way, they can continue to sign players. They have already got people like Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong.
Although it is true that Barcelona preferred either a sale or a loan deal which included a compulsory purchase clause, the loan deal reduces the strain on the club's finance.
As a result, Coutinho will leave the Catalan side temporarily after an 18 month spell in which he has won two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup.
