After re-establishing his place as the rightful number 1 at Craven Cottage, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is set to sign a new long-term contract with the Premier League side.
Betinelli was completely omitted from the first two matchday squads for Fulham's return season to the English top flight, but he has since been impeccable, and has not only reclaimed the number 1 spot, but also a contract extension with Fulham.
His outstanding form was also rewarded with his first senior England call up from manager Gareth Southgate in September, as well as being included once more for last month's Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain.
The contract extension offered by Fulham is in recognition to the development the keeper has made over the past year, having played a key role in the club's promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs last season.
Betinelli has kept 13 clean sheets throughout 2018, the fifth highest of any goalkeeper in England's top four divisions. Since 2014, Betinelli has made 105 appearances for the 'Cottagers' in all competitions.
A product of Fulham's academy, Betinelli still has two years left on his existing deal, but is expected to prolong his commitment to the club in the coming weeks with this extension.
