'Benzema is one of the best and it's ridiculous that he isn't at the World Cup'

After many hints that he may reverse his decision to retire from international football, the Swede has been forced to contribute to this summer's tournament only in a commentary capacity, working for TV channel 'beIN Sports'.
Speaking during the coverage of France's victory over Australia on Saturday, the LA Galaxy striker took the opportunity to have his say on Benzema's omission, describing it as "ridiculous".
"For me it's not normal that Benzema isn't part of the team in France," he explained. "He is one of the best in the world, has won the Champions League and plays in Madrid.
"Not being in this team has nothing whatsoever to do with football."
Not one to shy away from controvery, 'Zlatan' also had a few words for Didier Deschamps: "If this player is supposedly not good enough for this team, the coach shouldn't be in Russia and Benzema should.
"It's ridiculous and doesn't make sense."
Following a disappointing season at club level, Benzema has been pictured continuing to work hard during what should be his summer break as he looks to ensure he returns for pre-season in peak physical condition.
