Bayern rejected Cristiano Ronaldo: "He's too old for us"

Hainer, in a meeting with Bayern Munich fans, spoke about the possibility of signing Cristiano Ronaldo, which he quickly discarded after the comment about his age.
"There are a lot of names being mentioned. Cristiano? He's too old for us," the Bayer Munich boss said of the 35-year-old Juventus player.
Hainier's words come at one of Cristiano Ronaldo's finest moments. This season, he reached 50 goals for Juventus in just 70 games, a milestone only surpassed by Shevchenko in Serie A.
Even Cristiano himself is surprised by the level he is giving at his age. "What was he planning to do at 35? That I was going to be fishing in Madeira. I wanted to be a professional player, but I never thought I would win everything I won," he said on his birthday.
At the same event, Hainier spoke about the possible signing of Leroy Sané, which he aimed at again. The German came close to signing for the Bavarian club last summer, but an injury thwarted the transfer, however, it seems a deal has been agreed since.
