Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are leading the chase for Callum Hudson-Odoi, and could attempt to sign the starlet as soon as January.
After other English talents have flourished in the German league, Bayern are keen to have a young star of their own, and have earmarked Hudson-Odoi as their player of choice.
18 year old Hudson-Odoi only has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, and, given the lack of first team opportunities afforded to him so far, he could opt to move abroad for more senior minutes.
It has been reported that the youngster has stalled on a new deal with Chelsea, as he wants assurances over his long term future at the Premier League club.
However, if the Stamford Bridge side fail in their attempts to convince the player to stay, he could yet take the chance to move abroad to further his fledgling career.
Furthermore, it is being rumoured that Bayern are just one of many European giants looking to lure the Englishman away.
Juventus, Barcelona, and Arsenal are also interested in the Under-17 World Cup winner, but it seems that the Bavarians are leading the race for the midfielder.
Any potential deal would require a significant fee, as Chelsea are unwilling to let go of a homegrown talent, especially in light of the manner in which his fellow young stars have blossomed.
Yet Chelsea may not have a choice. If Hudson-Odoi is to flourish to the same degree as Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson, he will have to be afforded more senior football, which, at present, seems highly unlikely.
