Barcelona set to make shock signing of Amrabat on loan!

Despite the club's delicate financial situation as a result of Financial Fair Play regulations and their wage bill being too high, Barcelona are planning a big signing at the last minute. The Catalans seem to have an ace up their sleeve this Tuesday. 

According to 'Marca', the Catalan giants are very interested in getting hold of the services of Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder who shone for Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar. In fact, it is expected that the first conversations over the deal will take place on Tuesday morning. 

That said, it would not be a definitive signing, but a loan deal until the end of the season with an option to buy when it ends. Barca will have the final say in this as rhey must decide if they want to keep him for next season or not. 

The Moroccan currently plays for Fiorentina and he has a contract until June 2024. However, his recent role at the World Cup has meant the 26 year old's price tag has shot up. It is for that reason that Barcelona are thinking of a loan deal. 

Right now, Joan Laporta has just 10 million euros to be able to spend on the final day of the transfer window. The extra money has come thanks to the sale of Memphis Depay to Atletico Madrid and his salary of six million euros. 

Nevertheless, the club's priority is to get a winger to replace Ousmane Dembele, who will be out for a month and a half. Barca's big wigs know that it will be difficult to get a quality player for such a low price.
