After so much outcry over how Griezmann was signed by Barca, finally Atletico and Barca have agreed on something: the decision has upset both and they will appeal.
"Bearing in mind the financial situation of the club and the cost of the signing which led to these disciplinary proceedings, the committee is aware that the payment of 300 euros is merely symbolic, it will not make Barca and other clubs who could be in the same situation in the future change their ways to act within the rules," the decision read.
In Atletico's opinion, the punishment is far from satisfactory. They wanted another 80 million euros as his buyout clause was 200 million when they started negotiations. The team from the capital asked for at least a partial closure of the Camp Nou.
Barca however, are asking for the punishment to bre rescinded. Even though the amount to pay is tiny, they say there is no proof they were in the wrong.
As a result, the saga, which has been going on since July, continues. The rivalry between the two is not just on the field.
