"Barca don't owe me anything, I was paid up to the day I played"

Gerard Pique surprised everyone by hanging up his boots mid-season. He decided to quit football just before the World Cup in Qatar. Now, as the creator of the Kings League and the Queens League, he spoke about the current situation at Barcelona.
Piqué acknowledged that "there is some concern about the economic situation", but that they are "in good hands". "The president and his board have already had to get out of a similar situation, which was not so difficult. They are brave and they know what they are doing," he added on 'El Larguero' on 'Cadena SER'.
"The club are not in the best moment, they are in survival mode, without ruling out the need to win titles, to compete. And financially it is not at all competitive. We'll see what happens in the coming months", he argued. Of course, he still doesn't see himself in the box: "I see being president of Barcelona a long way off. I'm not saying no, but I see it a long way off".
Laporta surprised by saying that they owed Messi money until 2025. Pique was asked about the economic issue: "The day I left we decided that everything had to be sorted out. The club don't owe me anything. The last year and a half I didn't get paid because I didn't play. But as it was my decision... I didn't forgive them anything, I was paid until the day I played".
