Barca contact Nico Williams' agent

Barcelona have contacted Nico Williams' agent to let him know that the Basque player is a target for next summer's transfer window. The Athletic winger will be out of contract by then if he fails to reach an agreement with the club that gave him the chance to play in La Liga and have a place in Luis de la Fuente's Spanish national team.

Alfredo Martinez, in 'Sport', claims that some of the Barca representatives have phoned Felix Tainta, who manages both brothers, Iñaki and Nico Williams. However, the reaction of the player, who has already caught the attention of some Premier League projects such as Unai Emery's Aston Villa, has not yet been revealed.

San Mames' intention is to renew him for three more seasons, which would frustrate Barca's attempt to sign the young Spaniard, unless the Financial Fair Play (FFP) gives a break to the Catalan giants and it would be possible to make an offer to the Basque team.
