Tottenham offered both sides of the coin on a day that Spurs fans have marked in red on the calendar. They gave it their best shot but were unable to beat West Ham at home.
And it wasn't because things didn't start well. In 16 minutes, Mourinho's side were 3-0 up thanks to a fantastic start by Son and Harry Kane.
The Korean signed 1-0 before the first minute after a great pass from Kane and the striker scored the other two, one of them from Reguilon's cross, who made his debut assist in the Premier League.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly for Tottenham, who paid for their complacency. With less than 20 left to play, Mourinho decided to give Bale his debut. The Welshman was in command. The first free kick was called for by Bale, but it was not his best effort.
Almost out of nowhere, West Ham got into the game. First Balbuena, then an own goal by Davinson Sanchez. From a comfortable 3-0 it went to 3-2, but there was almost no time left.
Even Bale was about to make his debut with a good move that almost found the goal with 3-2 on the scoreboard. When the home victory was already being celebrated, Lanzini, with a great goal, left the clash in a draw.
